Couples and Relationship Therapy
Romantic partners seek therapy when there is conflict in a relationship or the closeness that once felt reassuring now feels distant and elusive. People may feel misunderstood or undervalued, unsure of how to move forward in the partnership.
My work with couples focuses on understanding what is happening between the partners. You will learn about yourself and your partner in this process. I will help you and your loved one(s) identify and understand relational patterns that are playing out between you. We will also explore the interpersonal dynamics and organizing principles each partner brings to the relationship. Through this deeper understanding of one another, partners can rekindle closeness and move toward greater connection.
I have no preconceived notions of what a relationship ought to look like. What matters most is that all members of the relationship are happy and on the same page about the partnership. I am affirming of relationships that run the gamut from traditional and monogamous to open, poly, and ENM, and I work with straight and queer couples.
